Eminem's 'Recovery' Sets Digital Sale Record by Pulling 1 Million Downloads

Eminem becomes the first artist to sell 1 million digital copies of his album in the United States. He scored the record-setting achievement after his latest solo album "Recovery" pulled in such a huge number in a cumulative download. Interscope Records' Vice Chairman Steve Berman called it "an incredible achievement by an incredible artist."

Responding to the Slim Shady's milestone, his manager Paul Rosenberg additionally said, "Over the years we've made a concerted effort to engage Em's online fan base, so this achievement is especially rewarding. Eminem made an amazing album with 'Recovery' and the fans responded in record numbers."

A follow-up to 2009's "Relapse", "Recovery" was released last June. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200 with the first-week sales of 741,000 copies. It sat at number one for at least seven non-consecutive weeks, selling over 100,000 copies in each week of its first nine weeks. By the end of June this year, it has raked around 4 million copies sold in the U.S. and nearly 6 million copies worldwide.
