'Kung Fu Panda 2' Unveils New Characters in Posters

DreamWorks has introduced some of the new characters in "Kung Fu Panda 2" by debuting new character posters via Kung Fu Panda official Facebook page. Those exposed in the one-sheets are Soothsayer, Lord Shen, Wolf Boss and Gorillas.

Soothsayer, voiced by Michelle Yeoh, has been an advisor to the Peacocks, rulers of Gongmen City, her entire life. She is wise and gifted with knowledge of the future. Lord Shen, voiced by Gary Oldman, is the movie's main villain. He is hyper intelligent, supremely lethal, and burns with ambition. He aims to wipe out kung fu and take over China.

Wolf Boss and Gorillas are both parts of Lord Shen's camp. Wolf Boss and his pack were once guards in Gongmen City's royal palace, but now he is Lord Shen's most loyal servant, military strategist and trusted right paw. The latter, meanwhile, are the muscle in Lord Shen's army. Shen's personal guard is made up entirely of these powerful (and powerfully large) brutes, who are honor bound to their master.

There are more new characters in the movie as Jean-Claude Van Damme has been tapped to lend his voice for Master Croc, while Victor Garber is slated to voice Master Thundering Rhino. Po and his friends, are still voiced by original cast such as Jack Black, Angelina Jolie and Jackie Chan.

In this "Kung Fu Panda" sequel, Po is living his dream as The Dragon Warrior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, The Furious Five. When a formidable villain plans to use a secret, unstoppable weapon to conquer China and destroy kung fu, Po must look to his past and uncover the secrets of his mysterious origins.

Previously called "Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom", "Kung Fu Panda 2" is made in 3-D and is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson. This animated comedy will open wide in the U.S. on May 26.
