Helena Bonham Carter: Colin Firth Will Win Oscar

Helena Bonham Carter is convinced her "The King's Speech" co-star Colin Firth is heading for glory at the upcoming Academy Awards, insisting the actor will be nominated for an Oscar and he "will win".

Firth received a nod in the Best Actor category at this year's ceremony for his role in "A Single Man", but lost out to Jeff Bridges, who took gold for his performance as a country singer in "Crazy Heart". Firth's new movie "The King's Speech" has already won him rave reviews and a number of awards nominations, including a Golden Globes nod, which was announced on Tuesday, December 14.

His co-star Bonham Carter is also nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the film and she's convinced her pal will go on to triumph at the Oscars. She says, "I've had a Golden Globe nomination before and then didn't get an Oscar nomination. But I presume Colin will get one, and I presume Colin will win."

Firth says of his Golden Globes nomination, "I'm truly grateful to be recognized by the Hollywood Foreign press for this film, and euphoric to be in the company of so many of my colleagues." The movie, which tells the story of British monarch King George VI and his battle to conquer his stutter, has also won nominations for Geoffrey Rush, director Tom Hooper and screenwriter David Seidler.
