Angelina Jolie Dismissed Controversy Surrounding Her Bosnian Movie

Angelina Jolie has downplayed the controversy surrounding her Bosnian war movie, insisting she has the backing of the entire cast and the country's leaders. Jolie has stepped behind the camera for the first time for the as-yet-untitled wartime love story, which is set in the region and was shot in Hungary and Bosnia in October and November.

The shoot was initially halted when Bosnian government officials revoked her filming permit after they misinterpreted the plot as a love story between a Serbian rapist and a Muslim woman. The story also came under fire from members of the Women Victims of War association, who refused Jolie's offer of a face-to-face meeting to discuss their issues and went on to call for the actress to be stripped of her role as a United Nations goodwill ambassador.

But Jolie has now spoken out to dismiss the controversy as nothing more than one person's "gripe". She tells Reuters, "There's one person who has a gripe. The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive."
